Future WiFi

We would like to allow our children to live in a more "green" world. In FTNet lab we proposed some solution to save energy in ICT.

For instance we proposed an outdoor femtocell distribution strategies that can save the network power. The results of the introduced strategies show that significant power savings of up to 92% can be achieved on a per macrocell basis if implemented.

In another project with international collaborators we showed how Cognitive radio solutions can save energy for wireless networks and devices.

Finally in an interesting work we showed how having virtual traffic light ahead of the junction can lead to an increased capacity and therefore reduced fuel consumption.
